The Need For Emotional Connection.
The need we all have, but rarely say out loud. What do you think that is?
One of my key reflective moments and very fundamental to my working psychodynamically in therapy is the belief that at the core of every human need, is an instinctive desire to love and be loved! That's the quiet truth that drives us. Not success. Not status. Just this simple desire. Almost everything we do comes back to this.
Strip it back, this is what most human beings crave and when our emotional need for connection is not met, we tend to experience emotional distress.
It sounds so simple, but it drives so much of what we do. The way we show up in life, our choices, our relationships, even our fears. Sometimes, unmet emotional needs go way back into our early developmental years affecting our attachment styles.
When we recognise the fundamental human need to feel seen, heard and understood, it can truly transform the way we communicate, lead and connect with others.
If this sounds like something you want to unpack. I offer informal, no pressure conversations to support a deeper understanding of self, break patterns and develop more meaningful relationships
