Concession fees from £45 to make therapy more accessible. I offer a limited number of 4 spaces subject to availability. If reduced fee helps, please enquire when making contact.(Online sessions only)
Is it better to meet in person?
This is a matter of personal preference, however, I believe that the nature of the client-therapist relationship is the most important factor and this can be achieved in person or online. I have extensive experience working remotely with NHS talk therapy and hold a BACP certificate in online and telephone counselling.
How will it help me?
Some clients come to sessions feeling stuck or describe a sense of dread or hopelessness. Thoughts of who they are or aspire to become seem unclear. These feelings can carry a heavy burden associated with high levels of anxiety, mood swings, overthinking, self doubt or low self-worth. Such lived experiences will be looked at in terms of your past and present circumstances.
I am here to listen, support and guide you through your therapy journey. My hope is to create a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour and work towards your healing, growth and change.
How many sessions do I need?
Every client is unique and may experience different issues. I would suggest an initial block of 6 sessions which can be reduced or increased, the choice is yours. We will talk about your goals for therapy and if you have specific expectations, I will work to support and guide you in achieving them. However, clients who have experienced trauma may require longer term therapy. I would also review our sessions regularly to check in with you.
When do you work?
Monday to Friday. (morning, afternoon and evenings) and sometimes Saturday to provide flexibility around your schedule.
How often will I see you?
This depends on you. However, it is recommended that sessions are weekly, at least for the first 6 sessions. Can be fortnightly after that depending on you. For the benefit of continuity I can offer regular slots, however for clients who need to work around other commitments, I can provide a more flexible arrangement.
Mode of Payment?
Mode of payment is by bank transfer and I would ask that this is made on the day of your appointment prior to each session.
Cancellations
I accept that cancellations are sometimes inevitable, but if this is not done within 48 hours of the session, the full fee is charged.
How do we know when to end?
You can choose to work open-ended and stop when you wish.
What makes you different to other counsellors?
We are all unique and as such there are no two human beings alike in the world, regardless of how similar some of us may appear to be at first. I would suggest trying out several counsellors to gain a feel for who's right for you. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of successful counselling.
Will you prescribe medication if I need it?
No. Psychotherapists and counsellors should not 'diagnose' medically related conditions and are not able to prescribe medication for clients. If you feel that medication is something you need, then please contact your GP in the first instance.
