About Therapy
Space for: Reflection + Self-Awareness + Understanding + Clarity + New Ways of Thinking + Emotional Resilience + Self-Compassion + Authenticity
Sometimes, we get caught up in our daily lives, relying on auto-pilot, pushing aside our worries and concerns and not allowing space to process our emotions.
You may be facing difficulties in life that are just too big to manage on your own or you may be feeling stuck, anxious or disconnected on the inside. My approach is not about quick fixes, it’s about understanding root causes shaping your emotions and relationships. We are the sum of all that we have experienced and sometimes events in our past leave their emotional imprint on our present circumstances.
Through a safe reflective space, we will spend time exploring your thoughts, feelings and behaviour patterns, helping you develop a stronger sense of self, healthier relationships and emotional resilience.I strongly believe that the client-therapist relationship plays an integral part in the therapeutic process allowing you to feel seen, heard, understood and accepted.
I provide an inclusive and culturally competent approach to clients from different backgrounds, which includes considering the psychological impact of race and culture in their lived experiences.
My counselling service is integrative, drawing from theories that include person centred, gestalt, existential and solution focused therapy with a primary focus in working from a psychodynamic perspective and attachment theory. I also give space to clients who wish to reflect on their faith and spirituality.
About Me
I am a professionally qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in Weybridge, near Hersham, Walton-on-Thames, Addlestone and Woking. I also work with NHS Talk therapy, enabling me to work with clients from different backgrounds and a wide range of clinical presentations. This approach takes the clients psychological, social, physical and spiritual dimensions into consideration, providing a culturally competent approach towards effective therapy. I offer a warm, caring and confidential space for meaningful change.
Guiding you to develop a deeper understanding of how your past experiences may shape your current circumstances, understanding that sometimes how we see ourselves and create the world is usually influenced by our lived experiences. My practice is integrative which requires using a range of proven therapy techniques to address your unique needs and circumstances. I also give space to reflect on faith and spirituality.
I have a legal background and over 20 years experience working in the social enterprise space and over 10 years as a non-executive director for a financial services institution.
Personal beliefs supporting the way I work include the understanding that the desire of most human beings is for relational connection and when this is missing, emotional disturbances may occur relating to attachment issues impacting on how we relate with ourselves and others. I am passionate about the importance of mental health and a strong advocate for counselling and psychotherapy as a pathway to health and healing.
I practice online and in-person and work weekdays from Monday to Friday. I am a registered member of the professional body, British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their code of ethics. I am fully insured, registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and have monthly supervision for my work in accordance with best practice.
Personal and professional development training have equipped me to understand the transient nature of life and its complexities, equipping me to help clients through their struggles which include low self-worth or relationship difficulties, professionals experiencing high levels of anxiety, imposter syndrome or burnout as well as entrepreneurs and creatives faced with setbacks running their businesses and struggling with self-doubt.
